Michael T. Trent is an experienced attorney with an active practice focusing primarily on litigation, especially criminal defense and personal injury.  He is a son of our Southside Virginia community and his love for this area runs deep, not only with his growing up in Charlotte County, but with the vast majority of his family having called all different parts of Southside home.

After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts from Lynchburg College, Mike received his Juris Doctorate from Suffolk University Law School in Boston, Massachusetts.  He then decided to come home to Southside, and began working as an Assistant Public Defender here in Halifax County.  At the PD's office, he focused at different times on both Halifax and Mecklenburg Counties, until starting the Trent Law Practice with his wonderful wife Blair at the beginning of 2015.  Now, he loves combining his training and experience with his devotion to this area in offering quality legal representation.

In addition to his dedication to the practice of law, Mike has and continues to be just as dedicated to serving our community in all sorts of other ways.  Over the years, he has regularly volunteered as a coach in local youth sports, been involved in the granting of scholarships for our young people, served as President of the Halifax County Bar Association, and been involved with local civic organizations such as the Lions Club and the Halifax Village Association. He currently serves as an elected councilman for the Town of Halifax, and is an active member of St. John's Episcopal Church here in the Town of Halifax, where he as previously served on the vestry. With all of that said, Mike's favorite role is that of father to two best little guys the world has ever seen!

Lena Rush is a Notary Public and serves as our Office Manager.  Lena is not only the first person you'll probably speak to when contacting our office, but in many ways is the glue that holds the Trent Law Practice together.  She does this by combining her education with great and unique professional experiences, and perhaps most importantly her real world common sense and hard work.

While serving our nation in the US Marine Corps, Lena received her paralegal certificate, and shortly after retiring with 20 years of service she received her Bachelor ofArts from the American Military University.  She was then a Program Analyst/Logistician with Camber Corporation from 2008-2013, before beginning work with Blair at the Legal Boutique in 2013.

In addition to her work with the Legal Boutique, and now the Trent Law Practice, Lena is a great wife, mother, and leader in our community. Lena continues to be an active member of the South Boston-Halifax Junior Women's Club, which is how she and Blair met prior to working together. When you can't find her at the office, you may find her at the baseball field or the Prizery supporting her two youngest kids. Her oldest child is a marketing specialist in Lynchburg and fur mama to Lena's grand-pups.
